The 2nd General Assembly of the Conference of Speakers of African Legislatures (CoSPAL) was held in Accra, Ghana, bringing together parliamentary leaders from across the continent to address pressing regional challenges and chart a collaborative path forward.
This year’s conference focused on the role of African legislatures in addressing climate change, promoting inclusive governance, and strengthening democratic institutions. In a series of high-level sessions, delegates emphasised the importance of legislative frameworks and oversight in achieving sustainable development goals and climate resilience.
The meeting also served as a platform to deepen inter-parliamentary cooperation, enhance policy alignment, and reaffirm the collective commitment of African parliaments to tackling continental priorities through dialogue and coordinated action.
